Dr. Susztak is the Willard and Rhoda Ware Professor of Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases and Professor of Medicine and Genetics at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Her laboratory developed much of the published groundwork in kidney genomics, single-cell atlases of the human kidney and kidney-specific machine learning on which Tarna’s models are based. She was elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2025.
